I have 13 + years of experience as a Neonatal / Pediatric Occupational Therapist and over 9
years experience as a Craniosacral Therapist and Infant Massage Instructor. I owe everything I know to the hundreds
of babies I evaluated and treated in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) during my eight year career in the
nursery. I learned from the babies, my best teachers, about how to work with the body very gently to promote health and happiness.
I had the benefit of seeing how my hands, fingers and intention can facilitate healing changes in the baby's body.
I was able to do this through watching the baby's behavioral cues, their actions, facial expressions and other movements as
well as medical monitors revealing the baby's heart beat, respiratory rate and pattern, and blood oxygen saturation level.
Having this immediate feedback enabled me to find extremely effective methods of relieving a stuck spot or helping a baby
feel more comfortable in their body with grace and ease. I continue to learn from the babies and the parents through
my experiences as a person in private practice as well as through teaching baby classes.
I am a Certified CranioSacral
Therapist through the Upledger Institute. I serve as a TA (teacher's assistant) for CranioSacral Therapy I
and II, SomatoEmotional Release I and II, as well as CranioSacral Therapy for Pediatrics I and II. In
addition to this, I have a wide variety of specialty baby craniosacral therapy training and experience beyond my certification.
I
am also certified in Infant Massage, Baby's First Massage, Butterfly Touch Massage and the Infant Behavioral Assessment. In
September I will be a nationally certified Reflexologist and plan to teach Baby Reflexology to professionals and parents beginning
in 2011.
I have graduate level study in the field of Pre and Peri Natal Psychology, which is the psychology from conception
through birth. This knowledge and expertise has helped me tune into the emotional and pyschological status and health
of babies. Research studies have revealed that the single most important aspect of a baby/child's development is a strong
and healthy connection to the caregiver/mom/dad. Being in tune with this aspect of a baby's life helps to support
and nourish the bond that you have with your baby.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, interest or
concern about anything I've mentioned on this website. In addition to all the things I've mentioned above, I'm just
another human, a mom of three brilliant and beautiful children, who is interested in helping the babies!! No miracles
here, but you can bet I'm on your side to helping you support your baby's resiliency, health and happiness.
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
